The topic was the addition of fare gates on transit and it had to be family friendly. I like families. I'm friendly. This is what I came up with. Man I stare at a computer too much. but I sure do like drawing.

p.s. my first time using pantone colors and channels as a working layer. Holy F*^% converting them to web specific files was a headache. Things I don't understand but wish I did.

So I got an amazing job with a small start-up company five months ago and this is our first piece. We completed it some months back, but as I'm forever the pRoCrAstinATOR when it comes to blog posts, (and dishes), here it is now. The pics I chose for the faces were not the best, but c'mon, I animated, modeled and rendered a 1/4 of it, give me a break...Make your own video with your and friends and family at www.jambino.com and let your inner animator/casting director show off. Play it for kids and they'll love you forever. Play it for adults and they'll think you're cute. And that's all that matters, really. ^^

I was waylaid by some side projects--an illustration gig; some After Effects editing projects for a client; trying to lose the ten pounds of extra non-smoking weight with yoga, work out vids and jumping jacks (it isn't working, but at least my lungs are stoked); lots of acupuncture to rid myself of evil Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (that worked too!!!! So exciting! I love having my arms back and not angry at me anymore!); life drawing (where I rediscovered the love I never lost); and much more, I still managed to make a new website to better showcase my *erm* talents. Now I'm way more HTML savvy, can run up and down and all around without wheezing, back in touch with conte or a pencil, and still best friends with my cintiq. I'd say it's been a good month! Plus it snowed, and that's always a good sign.

These are stills from the 3 week group project by Insert Edge Loop. We haven't put it up on the web yet. But perhaps I will soon. We keep talking about making fixes on it but have been way too busy with school. Alas.

I designed the parent's room and built it, unwrapped and textured it. Sam Erasmus helped with the texture and the lighting is all hers. (She's magical with lights.) I also did the kids pajamas and the hallway texture.

....so I found employment a while back and somehow or other bagging groceries and punching in codes made me go home and draw this...I don't really get the connection, but alas, that's the truth of the matter.

been making friends in this seaside town and spent many a glorious day tanning my behind on tiny ash coloured pebbles that leave your hands covered in dust. A result of the type of rock lining the Canadian west coast or leftovers from the days when smoking was in vogue, I dunno. But makes you miss the fine white sands of the other side of the world. And the first minute of a dip in the Earth's big bath of polar bear club quality salty H2O happens to add to the homesickness, but then your legs go numb with acceptance, the sun is still shining down and it's all okay cuz a beach is a beach and I'm just glad I live near a couple. (Near being relative to how far I could really be...)

Starting to feel alright here tho, at least until the rain kicks in again. But I'm hoping it'll be at least a month before then.

morning is setting in, light making the sky visible as the neighbours movement sensor goes off and i hope make sounds for chubby. the birds take over the radio station at four a.m when the cars sign off shift.
duty free provides endless entertainment as i sip glenfiditch with star heart circle shaped ice cubes melting away to ad some hydration to the nights escapades.
p sleeping anguishly in the next room. cries everynight cuz of mr. man who has yet to return but has made me find god as i pray to hear his high pitched meow in reality instead of just sound clips in my head.

we're walking weary, swaying to and fro, says she's dizzy, i'm walking slow. tread thru streets she's knows by heart, tread thru streets after selling art. ladies i just met walk away with my proverbial sweat and blood and it's great the see the glow in their eyes and the excitement in their voices a new purchase that will hang on their walls and hopefully give them some colour to break up the off white. i loved the way ruth talked about my painting. she hated it. kept coming back. she hated it. she wanted it. the green shining thru the cracks. the spaces the city lacks so we make them up in drifting thoughts find solace in time and hidden parks that don't exist unless we make em. she'll put it in her office where she works at home cuz she says that it encompasses how she feels about seoul. and the passion in her words, not native tongue say things i would never think to and in ways i can't (especially out loud) and i'm touched.
these shoes are giving me shocks thru my foot. first started with a sharp pain in my big toe, now moved to the ball behind the last three and dude if every step isn't brutal and now my ankles are killing me not so softly and there will be no hip to my hop if i don't get some new fucking sneakers. and why is it that every show i've had so far, i make exactly enough to pay off debts?? all i want is a little extra to give me kicks but i suppose i shouldn't be looking the gift horse in the mouth unless i'm seeking to get kicked in the teeth...but really if you're looking in the mouth does that just mean he'll bite you? but of course say the trojans as they come crashing thru wreaking havoc black and blue. and before a show i cross my fingers and cross my (now aching) toes and wish for just enough to pay off debts. so i guess you get what you wish for as my mind races and dreams of selling it all to pay for trips to tahiti and days on the beach with a curly haired girl who dreams of sleep. selling out? nah, just being appreciated. and those pats on the back leave me grinning from ear to ear. selling out means changing styles miles and miles from where you started or what you wanted to do. appreicated means doing what you want and paying back stuey in the process who would weep at the grammatical deflamation and spelling mistake galore found in every entry on this page.
really tho if i have to give one more freaking explanation about my works i'm gonna go beserk cuz the more i do it the worse my korean gets and i'm not making sense calling nature brother and government economy and all my sentences are of the same variety and we're talking toddler not scholar but who said i was a scholar anyway.
if i had cash i'd buy zane's anger (and hurt) away and look at all the swirls over faces like drops of water on her face as she smiles at me in the shower with a new hairdo. cuz the more you look the more you see. art is funny that way. maybe he'll go for a trade.

bent outta shape by this walking around and talking to the town looking for lodging and flinching at rent there's a dent in my wallet and since i don't use one that means my ass. i'm crass when cranky and tired burnt out on coffee with no substance in my stomach to not send it tearing through my brains like a freight train mind on overdrive as I giggle with the radiologist who likes to play motherly and say my name. "oh! Karen! I think you're not soo young..." if i tell her it's fine that i'm skiddy and late for my meal then "oh! Karen! lets do the next question..."
